The new Galil ACE GEN II is a continuation of the Galil ACE, which is based on the reliable mechanics of the original Galil rifle first developed by IMI in the late 1960’s. Drawing inspiration from the legendary Russian AK-47 and the Finnish Valmet RK 62, the IWI Galil family has been continuously improved over the last 50 years, resulting in today’s extremely reliable and highly accurate Galil ACE GEN II.
Improvements made since the original Galil was first developed and Galil ACE include:
- Charging handle (reciprocating) on the left side of the milled steel receiver allowing for weak hand operation.
- Weight reduction with the use of modern polymers.
- AKM/AK-47 magazine compatibility. (Note that the Galil ACE GEN II rifle is assembled in the US from imported and US parts under 18 U.S.C § 922(r). You should only use magazines made in the USA in your Galil ACE GEN II rifle. Use of an imported magazine may put you in violation of 18 U.S.C § 922(r).)
- Full length 2-piece Picatinny style top rail. (GEN II)
- Free Float M-LOK rail forearm. (GEN II)
- Updated Trigger profile. (GEN II)
- Updated and shorted safety profile and throw. (GEN II)
- Side folding adjustable telescoping buttstock with M4 stock compatibility. Rifles ship with Magpul CTR and riser. Pistols with brace ship with SB Tactical SBA-3. (GEN II)

The iwi gallil pistol is amazing. The fit and finish of the gun itself is excellent and it feels like quality when you work the action. Only thing that was a bummer was the buffer tube has one hole in it at the very base where the brace clicks in, you go to extend out the brace past that first hole and there is no other place where it can lock in. It is an error with the buffer tube only and a replacement tube was 40$ to install and fix the issue. However spending 1600 on this gun should have not had to do that. This is an issue with these from gun prime as my local shop had another one of these a customer had ordered we checked that one and it had the same issue
The Galil Ace has always been my dream gun and GunPrime didn’t disappoint. They were fast to send my order out and provide tracking: the firearm arrived faster than I expected in NC and it was in perfect condition as I expected.
I love how the Galil Gen 2 shoot. I have 2 Galil ACE Gen 2, chamber in 5.45x39mm and 7.62x39mm. Everyone should have one in his/her collection. Love it..
I have not had a chance to shoot this but it’s a Galil, I’m sure it will run great. The Good: Galil is awesome, it screams quality. Love everything about the controls, build quality, fit.. it’s a solid pistol. Only wish they would have left the iron sights on. Gunprime was great, I placed the order late night, they shipped the order the following day and I received it the day after that. What’s even better is Gunprime constantly updated me through text and email with shipping status and tracking, I never had to go to the shippers site. Every time the package made a move I was alerted.
The not so good: I had to knock off 1 star, only because my Galil arrived with a small chip/gouge on the side of the rail. The inner and outer boxes were perfect and it was packed well. This damage did not happen during transit. It either was a display at Gunprime and someone knocked it into something or IWI somehow let this slip through the cracks. It’s not a huge deal I can hit it with a sharpie or put a rail cover on to hide it… but I take care of my firearms and this was my most expensive gun purchase and When paying this kind of $$$$ you expect it to show up in new condition, w/o any imperfections. I’d like to be the first to damage it.

I could not be happier with the GREAT customer service from Gunprime! I placed the order and it was shipped in about 3 hours and they tracked the shipment and let me know where it was all along the way and when it was delivered to my FFL dealer. The next day I ordered a T-Shit and they did the same thing for a $20.00 order. I will order from them again for sure.

Short, smooth action, heavy? A lil on the heavy side, but it is a milled receiver. Not stamped like a traditional AK. New gen is very accessorizable with the new Mlok guard. Doesn't come with any sights though, be prepared to spend more money. Safety a lil clunky too but not a prob. So far fits all my steel AK mags. Bakelites fit too so far. Poly's on the other hand are tight. Very light filing may be necessary. Train a lot with my AK rifles, still getting use to this strong side bolt slide.
